And if we’re correct, we think that more times than not, the response is “I’m good”, or “Good thanks”. But what if you’re not good? What if, instead of just responding with the thing that comes to you instantaneously, you tell the truth?

What if, instead of trying to protect people from the truth that maybe you’re having a really hard day, you just answer the question that they’ve asked? What would you do if when you asked someone how they were, they responded with something like “to be honest, I am not doing well today, I’m really struggling in my personal life.

It’s not something I want to talk about, but if you could just hold space for me today, that would be great”? You’d probably hold space for them and you’d probably be grateful that although different to what you’re used to, they at least answered honestly.

We want to stop the automatic silencing of our voices.It’s the time to tell the truth, regardless of what it is. It’s time to trust your voice.It’s time to answer questions truthfully. Start the conversation. Speak up. Embrace how you’re feeling, even if it’s like crap. If you are truly good, please, shout it from the rooftops - we’re here for that. But, if you’re not, please don’t feel like you need to pretend any longer.
