Healthy and social, two words that you don’t often find being best friends.
So, how do you stay on track with your fitness goals when faced with family, friends and fried foods?
For me, it comes down to planning and preparation.
Planning my week in my calendar with all of the social activities I have, really helps me to know what I can expect and eliminates those “hey, want to grab dinner tonight” which can ultimately lead to some poor decisions around food. My social circle know that they are extremely important to me but I rarely midweek can be found out somewhere with them that wasn’t planned in advance. It may sound a little silly, but give it a try and see if you notice any changes.
Not only do I plan my week for social activities, I plan and prepare all of my meals for the week (stay tuned for future posts with plans and easy to follow recipes). This is a tool that I know many people utilize to stay on track with their healthy eating, but when you live a crazy busy life, I believe meal prepping is a crucial component for reaching your goals.
Planning both your social activities and your meals can seem like a daunting task at first, but once you get used to it you will seriously wonder how you ever lived your life before.
