Okay, time to be real. Netflix and chill is only acceptable if snacks are involved! Everyone binge watches. Everyone who binge watches has their own specific ideal set-up and everyone who binge watches needs some snacks to get them through.
There is just something so right about a big bowl of food, a dark room and that one embarrassing clothing article you are all entitled to (mine is big blue, will save that story for another time)!
I have listed below some of my favourite snack ideas, including sweet, including salty and including OH MY GAWD STOP!
Snack 1 - Froyo
1 Cup of 0% Greek Yoghurt
1 Scoop protein powder (any flavour really)
Mix and place in the freezer for 20 minutes.
ADD: Go nuts with toppings, #froyo style
Snack 2 - Salted Caramel Popcorn
1 cup cooked popcorn
Sauce: 1/2 cup maple syrup, 1/2 cup coconut cream, 2 tbsp coconut oil, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp coconut sugar (or normal), 1/4 tsp salt
Place all sauce ingredients in a pan and bring to boil. Reduce and simmer for 25 mins, stir. Stir continuously for 5 more minutes so sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let stand. Pour over popcorn and enjoy immediately or let sit for caramel to harden.
Snack 3 - Crunchy Cheesy Snap Peas
3 Cups of sugar snap peas, trim them
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup panko
1/4 cup shredded parmesan
Heat over to 400. Line a baking pan with paper. In a bowl, toss the peas with olive oil. In a seperate bowl, add remaining ingredients. Spread on the pan and bake, uncovered for 20 minutes or until crispy. Turn/move peas around the tray awkwardly twice during cooking. Eat hot.
One of the quickest, easiest snacks to make. When you get to sit down with a whole cake to yourself, nothing can be bad! Get the recipe here.
